With the Magic Millions March QTIS Sale completed, Rockhampton’s Capricornia Yearling Sale now takes centre stage on Sunday, April 7.
Like the QTIS sale, the annual Capricornia Yearling Sale is an important one for Queensland buyers and this year’s sale features an enhanced catalogue headlined by 112 yearlings.
In order to attract buyers to the sale, the Rockhampton Jockey Club is offering accommodation offers for potential buyers.
Racing Queensland will also be hosting an Own The Morning information session for owners on the morning of the sale at 9am on Sunday, April 7.

VALUE ON OFFER AT MARCH QTIS SALE
The Magic Millions March QTIS sale has become renowned for producing value and it was again the case this year.
The average price for the sale was $33,320 which presents a different offering for owners to the Magic Millions January Yearling Sale.
The full sister to Chinny Boom topped the sale at a price of $230,000 and the progeny of champion Queensland stallion Spirit of Boom were again popular as he produced four of the top five priced lots of the sale.
MEMBERSHIP CARDS
Thank you to those members who have renewed or joined this year, new membership cards on the way. We thank you for your ongoing support of the QTOA which is vital as we strive to grow the voice for owners in Queensland.
We will be making membership growth an important target in the coming year. A number of initiatives are being considered by the committee and we will look to have input from as many interested parties as possible. If anyone has ideas they think are worthwhile please do not hesitate to let us know.
The stronger our active membership base is, the easier it is to gain sponsorship to enable us to pay for support services required for effective advocacy on behalf of owners.

ANNUAL REPORT AND AGM
Our annual report has now been finalised as we prepare for the AGM on Monday, April 15 at the Gold Coast Turf Club.
QTOA financial members will receive direct communication via email with further information ahead of the AGM.
EXCITING PLANS FOR WINTER
The QLD Winter Racing carnival is only around the corner and we are pleased to advise that we will have some exciting opportunities for QTOA members thanks to our friends at Ladbrokes.
Over the Spring and Summer we formed a partnership with Ladbrokes which gave QTOA members the chance to win double passes to the exclusive Ladbrokes’ areas on feature race days
