Important feedback received from QTOA members in our recent owners survey will now be taken to Racing Queensland to help shape the future of racing in Queensland.
Thank you to all our members that took part in the survey and gave their feedback.
It is vital to help us understand some of the key topics that matter most to owners and also ensures we are advocating for owners in the right areas so we can influence change in our ongoing discussions with Racing Queensland.
Now that we have collated the data received from the survey, we have requested meetings with Racing Queensland over the next couple of months as we lead into December 1.
One area the survey has highlighted is the need for more education around the Point of Consumption (POC) Tax. Some people just don’t understand it or are unsure about it.
Of those that do understand it, investing the proceeds gained from the POC Tax in regional/provincial prizemoney and racecourses are the popular choices.
The majority of QTOA Members are also supportive of expansions to the Queensland Thoroughbred Incentive Scheme (QTIS) as well as an increase in funding for the Off The Track program.
